A recent letter from R.I. General Secretary John Hewko details the review being undertaken by The Rotary Foundation to assure that donations intended for disaster relief in Ukraine end up benefitting the intended recipients. The review was prompted by concerns raised about one individual Ukrainian club’s use of those funds. In an abundance of caution, the Foundation is not approving grants to that club until the review is completed. The Trustees discourage clubs and districts from responding to solicitations, or from sending funds or materials to projects involving the Rotary Club of Kyiv International.
The Foundation’s stewardship department requests that you notify it of any such solicitation or with any questions. Clubs and Districts wanting to support service projects in Ukraine, are asked to work directly with the District 2232 Coordinating Committee by contacting Past District Governor Mykola Stebljanko or by donating to the Foundation’s Ukraine Response Fund.
